Meet Chris Bare!

Name: Chris Bare

Choir member since: 2011 Voice Part/Instrument: Tenor/Guitar

Personal History (married/single, children/grandchildren, birthday, career, hobbies): I have been married to the most beautiful person in the world for over 26 years. Joan and I met in college at Bowling Green. We have two wonderful daughters, Elizabeth and Rachel. I have been a systems engineer/project manager at Honda R&D for 12 years. Prior to that, I spent over 10 years in computer and software training and consulting. My hobbies include playing guitar and singing at coffeehouses, wineries, and anywhere else folks will listen. I also enjoy playing racquetball and any card or board game imaginable.

Why did you join the choir? Dana and Sue White have been our friends since our days at BGSU. We reconnected and thought we would share our time worshipping in song once again.

Music background (degree, other choir/ensemble experience, private lessons): Pontifical College Josephinum – lead guitarist - student

St. Thomas More University, BGSU – guitar, vocalist, assistant director

Member of Men’s Chorus and A Cappella Choir at BGSU

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel – Temperance, Michigan – Director of Music

St. Peter Parish, Columbus – guitar, tenor, song leader, soloist, cantor, assistant director, Director of High School choir

Guitar instructor – Brennan Music Studio

Member of Kenyon College Community Choir

Favorite COTR choir memory: Being part of the spring concert and feeling the Spirit’s inspiration and love.

Favorite pieces performed by the Adult Choir: Be Thou My Vision, Because of Christ
