State of the Parish
My Parishioners, Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Less than four months ago, I moved in as pastor of Church of the Resurrection. I thank God for this gift often in my prayers. Our liturgies are prayerful and inspired. Sacraments abound! The treasure of our faith is shared with so many people in so many different ways. I am moved, impressed, happily overwhelmed, and excited when I see so many ministries with so many people in action every single day of the week. Whether it is with our youth, our elderly, and everyone in between, there is something very special and inviting about our parish.
A big part of making all of the above possible is money, and so this annual report offers a statement of accountability for the good stewardship you have shown over the past year. Because of your financial support, the work of our excellent staff and the lay leadership of our parish’s Pastoral and Finance Councils, I’m happy to say our house is in order. So thanks be to God and to your generosity and sacrifice!
Since I’ve arrived, many people tell me that there is so much more that we are called to do and can do within our parish and beyond. I’ve noticed that to be true. Our Parish Ministry Center is scheduled full; we have run out of room. There are many people in our parish who are not yet connected, who do not hear the word of God and experience God’s love every weekend. In other words, we are moving forward, but we have a lot yet to accomplish. It is obvious to me that great things are happening at Church of the Resurrection, but even greater things are on the horizon. The enthusiasm to grow our own faith is noticeable. The potential to make more disciples and to serve others better is evident. Saints will tell us that if we respond fully to God’s call, we will be able to live joyfully. Trust me, you will hear more about all of this in weeks to come.
Until then, thank you for your stewardship of our parish. May God continue to pour forth His richest blessings upon you and your family and friends. By God’s grace, may we become better stewards and disciples, learning how to fully respond to the Lord’s call and live joyfully the life he has given us.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. James C. Csaszar
