Meet Gail Kolda
Name: Gail J. Kolda
Choir member since: 2009
Voice /Instrument : Alto
Personal History: Married for 50 years (in 2012) to Thomas J. Kolda, also in the choir. Have two sons, two daughters-in-law, four granddaughters ages 11-19. I retired in 2006 from a career as a Paralegal. My birthday is July 23. My hobbies are: reading, knitting (Prayer Shawl Knitting Ministry), choir, other handwork, and ancestry searching.
Why did you join the choir? I joined because I have been interested in music since I was a small child. I loved hearing the choir at COTR, and wanted to be a part of it. I have enjoyed learning new music and making new friends and was sorry that we weren’t able to be part of it this year. Looking forward to re-joining next year.
Music background: I was in a choir in college, but never in a church choir until we joined COTR. I used to play the piano (for my own amusement only) and played the cello for six years in junior high and high school (but haven’t played for many years).
Favorite COTR choir memory: My favorite memories of the choir are making new friends especially during the practices for special holidays and for the concert last year.
Favorite pieces performed by the Adult Choir: On Eagle’s Wings, I Know That My Redeemer Lives, Blessed Are You, Surely the Presence, and many, many others.
