Meet Andrew Cerritelli
Name: Andrew Cerritelli
Choir member since: 2006
Voice Part/Instrument: Violin/Tenor
Personal History: Single. Born on June 2, 1988 in Youngstown, OH. Came to Columbus in 2006 to go to Capital University. Love Pontiacs, the band Yes, and anything blue.
Why did you join the choir? Upon first arriving in the Columbus area to go to college, Geoff Towne, my mother’s cousin, had told me that he belongs to a remarkable choir with a strong instrumental group, all part of a lively parish, and that I should check it out. He brought me to my first Mass in November 2006, and the rest is history…
Music Background: Parents bought me a violin for my 7th birthday. Took private lessons for 11 years. Member of Youngstown Symphony Symphonette from 1997-2002, and Youngstown Symphony Youth Orchestra from 2002-2006. Participated in OMEA Solo & Ensemble Competitions from 2001-2005. In 2006, played an anniversary concert with the School For Strings at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Favorite COTR memory: When Thom was telling the choir something, and Sue White said, “You know Thom, you ARE preaching to the choir.” After we composed ourselves again, she said, “There’s just so few times…”
Favorite pieces performed by the Adul Choir: AWAKE, O SLEEPER (Haugen); GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DEO (Larson); PRAISE YOU
